I hear a lot about
people having crohns in the rectum. I have crohns in the ileum but I also have Colitis. I have anal tags as told by the Dr in which I thought they were hemorrhoids. My problem is that whenever I have the urge to have a bowel movement I am in a lot of pain in the anus. I can't sit proper cause it hurts. I am scared and depressed and don't really want to go to surgery. I am on 6-mp, Humira every week and protonix. Can someone tell me if they are experiencing something similar.

Hi Royal Pain, welcome!
Yes, that's how my CD actually started, with perianal crohn's skin tags when I was a teenager (had no other symptoms until my early 20's after I had my first baby. The tags would just come and go on their own and I was told by family docs that they were just hemmies and about
a yr after having my first baby all hell broke loose, they banded them off still convinced it was just hemmies and then things got really bad and my CD was affecting my small intestine and colon and rectum and anus.
Due to mine being wrongfully banded like hemmies are, mine never went away, I've been on Humira since 2014, my GI said that the Humira might even clear them up but it hasn't and I think the banding of them is why. I had seen a colon and rectum surgeon and he said if they hadn't been banded then rectal meds like cortifoam would have likely helped shrink them down but that they could always come back again....it's a small percentage of us that get these, not everyone with CD does....it's highly linked to CD affecting the colon/rectum area, but again not all CDers will necessarily get them....maybe see if you can see a colon/rectum surgeon/specialist about
yours. There is also a chance that Humira will help for you, how long have you been on Humira now?

Thank u pb4. Well I was diagnosed in 2000 and started getting hospitalized since 2009. I started using Humira around 2014 but Dr is concern as to why I have not gone into remission yet. He is thinking about
ramicade ( remicade). I went to the surgeon referred by my GI and he wants to go in to see if I have any tags inside as that not only does it hurts but I also bleed. I am scare. I now have a very small self esteem cause I feel that I leak and smell. If he goes in I am scared that I might leak more and there goes my social life.
