I am new to this forum, and am here because I am having problems that I believe are related to my Crohn's disease. I was diagnosed 30 years ago. Taken many different meds over the years. 6mp was the sole medication for me, and worked well, for 20 years. I was puled off of it 2 years ago, because I now have multiple agressive invasive SSC of the skin (a rare complication of the med). I injected methotrexate abdominally for a few months, but the side effects were bad and the possible effects scary. I take only Sulfasalazine now.
For months, my joint pain has worsened, and contipation is a costant condition. I feel like I have been run over, and sometimes it is all I can do to walk. I am a teacher, so staying off my feet is not an option. I never had constipation with Crohn's before, it was always diareah.
I made an appointment with my rheumatologist that is over a month away. I am seeing my regular doc Tuesday to rule out other conditions/blood work. I am scared to go to the Gastroenterologist, because the medications that I will have to take are frightening.
