My husband was recently seen at a Pain Management Clinic for Crohn's/abdominal pain. They offered to do a Superior Hypogastric Block. I am leary about him having this done; has anyone had this done? If so what results and side effects did you experience?

I had a block done a few years ago. I'm not sure if it was this specific one or not. It was pretty easy, I didn't have any problems. But I didn't notice any pain relief, either.

Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities; I take pleasure in infirmities, reproaches, necessities, persecutions, distresses, for when I am weak, then am I strong" 2 Cor

I've never had a superior hypogastric block, but I've had other nerve blocks for other things (back multiple times plus nerves for my sinuses). Some of them helped for a few weeks, while others only helped for a couple of days at best, if they helped at all.

It's probably worth a try for your husband. It might help a lot, but it might not. The only way to know is to try.
