NCOT and JaSanne, thank you very much.
My GI refused the 12 mg dose and said 9 mg is the maximum dose.
For more than a year, I have been taking colifoam, which is a steroid, regularly not necessarily every day, without any effect.
Cortiment/Buidesonide MMX/Uceris any of them has got budesonide too but which dissolves in the colon and not in the intestines like entocort. Many UC patients have used it to treat UC proctitis. I argued w my GI that, as CD patients our inflammation penetrates all the layers of the intestines and colon, but he assured me it's effective. I have no other options to treat my rectal inflammation. I have been taking lately, on a daily basis, a pentasa suppository in the morning and a ciolfoam enema before bedtime but in vain. After 4 weeks, when Remicade's effect starts to wear off, though I feel it is ineffective for my rectum, pain escalates by a 9 or even a 10. I can't figure out why would my TI respond to Remicade while it is ineffective for the rectum. Quite weird!
