4x250 mgs, 4 times a day.
4g a day - that's a normal dose. I did take Pentasa, many moons ago, and can't remember how many pills I took, but I don't think it was anything like 16 a day.
Like scifigal said, your frequenncy, on its own, isn't a problem. While the norm is 1-3 BMs a day, there are people who go less than that and people who go more. Meanwhile, I had pretty severe disease when I was "only" going 4-5x a day. Symptoms aren't the greatest guide to disease activity: whilst rare, I have heard of people who had severe inflammation and no symptoms. More common, though, is the person who has diarrhoea, abdominal pain, etc. whilst in clinical remission.
If you're still worried, then ask one of your doctors about
it next time you see one. It's a good habit to get into anyway. From my own experience, doctors don't tend to say much if the patient says nothing, but if you talk then most of them will respond positively to that.
