Hello

i'm 28 years old and i had severe bloating, diarrhea and high stool calprotein(about1258), my doctor told me that maybe i have colit or crohn disease. so i had colonoscopy and it showed nodularity of terminal ileum. my microscopic biopsy showed bengin reactive lymphoid follicle hyperplasia(peyer's patch) with no other significant pathologic change and also no granuloma seen. also i had endoscopy that showed decreased folds of duodenum, r/o celiac disease which my microscopic biopsy showed no significant pathological changes, the number of intraepithelial lymphocytes wasn't increased .not more than 8lymphocytes per100 enterocytes in the 500 cells counted and no giardia seen. please tell me does anyone knows how bad is my illness?confused
please help me, i'm not living in a good country and doctors don't have well Diagnosis...

Regards

Right now it doesn't seem that you have a difinitive diagnosis. Your doctors are only suggesting that you might have Crohn's or Colitis?

Can you relate what other symtpoms you've been having and for how long? Did you have a full blood screening?

If your biopsies are positive for Crohn's, then you'll need a treatment plan, and a suitable medication to control the disease. Treatment and medications have come a long way over the last 10-20yrs. If you stay on top of your symptoms, and respond well to the right meds, then you have a very good chance of continuing to live a normal life.

Diagnosis is a scary thing for everyone, so try to understand that things will get better. Hope you're feeling better soon.

dear 73monte
thanks for replying me... that was all they found in my biopsy, untill now i didn't see my doctor , he is in vacation and i can see him next week.
according to your text how i'm able to find out my biopsies are positive for Crohn's? the diagnosis was only " 1.bengin reactive lymphoid follicle hyperplasia(peyer's patch) with no other significant pathologic change/ 2.no granuloma seen"
i'm really worry about crohn's and cancer ... i have never seen blood on my stool. just becouse of Bloating and a little diarrhea i went to doctor, and after that docotor took blood test and it showed my calprotein is high (the max number should be 200, mine was 1258) , then he said maybe you have colit or crohn. after endoscopy & colonoscopy i didn't see my doctor yet.
but being worry is always with me , i'm scaring from cancer...

Have you had any blood in your bowel movements/stool?

The colonoscopy results and biopsy results mean that ulcerative colitis is very unlikely.

Cancer is also very unlikely.

Crohn's is possible, but it can't be confirmed.

An infection is also the possible cause, and food allergies and immune deficiencies are possible causes too.

Dear Beave
thanks for your reply.
No.... untill now I've never seen blood in my stool (with eyes). I heared that sometimes for some person there are hidden blood in stool, maybe mine was hidden but with eyes, no, there was nothing like blood in my stool.
thanks a lot for your consolation... nothing is precise, that's why i'm so worry about that... you know becouse of i'm feeling fear in my heart, i just ate grill chicken for a month as lunch and dinner...

As Beave suggested, it I would be looking at other possible causes to your symptoms. You really need to get your biopsy results though. Cancer is extremely unlikely, and it sounds like your anxiety is working overtime.

Until you see your Doctor again, perhaps follow a low residue diet. This might give your system a chance to calm down. Once again, hope you're feeling better soon.
