Last December, I had my first outbreak of hidradenitis suppurativa (HS). I didn't know then and didn't tell my GI except after 2 months have passed. When I informed him, he was alarmed and sent me to a surgeon. The surgeon suspected first breast cancer but after I responded to the meds he gave me, he said it was HS, which was confirmed by the dermatologist. I was told that Remicade is the treatment.

On Saturday, a new boil of HS broke out in my underarm. I'll end on Tuesday week 4 post-Remicade and start the 5th. I normally take the infusion in week 5. The dermatologist told me before that when I get an HS flare up, my GI has to be informed immediately and Remicade has to be postponed. I'm just wondering about the cause of this HS flare up given that Remicade is the treatment and my Crohn's is more or less under control.
