At what point does one go to the emergency room for blood loss? Does it have to completely fill the toilet or can it be large amount covering the bowel movement? Taking uceris and have still noticed blood a few weeks after and just now I've passed a large amount. Should I go just to make sure my count is okay?

Your medication doesn't seem to be cutting it. If you have to question it either go to the er or call your GIs office and seeing if you can talk to the doctor ASAP.

I never went to the ER unless I thought i needed to be admitted. My GI was usually pretty quick to get me in to see her if I was doing poorly. The ER really can't do that much, aside from giving fluids or steroids to stabilize you... If you have a fast heart rate, low blood pressure, fever, infection, extreme dizziness, wheezing, chest pain, debilitating abdominal pain... those would push me to go to the ER, the blood in the toilet never got me there. Uceris, while a nice idea, never worked well for controlling my inflammation. It's not as effective as prednisone for anything more than mild activity. Ultimately, you should go if you feel like you're really struggling and you need to be seen now & you can't get in to see a specialist.
