Hello guys, I'm 18 years old and from Sweden. A few months ago I turned 18 years old and I was diagnosed with Crohn's in Mars 2017. My life has never been the same after. I just finished my final school in may and I had plans to start professional flight training because my dream is to be a pilot. But now everything is on hold. I need to get my disease under controll first. These months has been really depressing for me because of the sympthoms I have from my disease. I started my treatment with azathioprine and prednisolon alternova. This was 6 months ago and it didnt work for me, I still have flares after a few weeks. And about 3 months ago my doctor found that I had now severe inflammation, so I was put on entocort and I still eat azathioprine since day one. I became really well with entocort and now 3 months has passed. But Im going to need a long term solution and my doctor wants me to start with Humira. I have done some resarch about crohn's and about how the bacteria MAP can be a cause of Crohns. Insted of Humira I really want to start anti map treatment with antibiotics. The problem is, in Sweden doctors here cant do that becasue its not an approved method and they are following strict rules. I need help to find a doctor that can prescribe the antibiotics and start the treatment for me. Dose anyone know who I can contact, email? phone? any doctor that is willing to help me, in the us? Europe? Anywhere.

Thanks for reading this and helping me.

Philip7, welcome to Healing well!

We have a few members that believe in the MAP theory. However, the majority here are on the typical meds used to treat Crohn's. Humira has successfully put Crohn's in to remission for some people or greatly improved their symptoms. I have taken Remicade, Humira, Simponi and now Stelera for my Crohn's. My CD has been in remission for 12 years with the exception of one year when I had to be off biologics.

Hopefully, someone with more info on the MAP treatments will chime in.

Thank you so much for answers. My main concern is that if I start with humira now then anti map treatment in future will not work as good for me as it would if I didnt start humira.
