My brother passed away suddenly yesterday. Since then, I have had diarrhea and constant abdominal cramps. I need to be strong as my mum is devastated but I can't. Took a tranquilizer at night but couldn't sleep. I don't know what to do to control my symptoms in order not to collapse.

Oh minnie, I'm really sorry :'(

Don't worry about being strong. Let other people take care of the practical side of things. Just take care of you and your mum.

Minnie,

So very sorry to hear of this sudden loss. You really need to do everything possible to keep your strength up. As hard as it is right now, I would strongly consider a short tern of anti-anxiety meds. Something mild like Xanax. A mild sleep med might help as well. So sorry again to hear this sad news.

Minnie,

I am so sorry for your and your families loss.

This is a difficult time for you. I urge you to talk to your doctors to ensure you do not go into a flare.

Sometimes when we are grieving it is ok to let others to be stronger...or to just lean on each other.

May your good memories give you strength and help you all navigate this difficult time.

My heart goes out to you. You all are in my thoughts and prayers.

Sorry for your loss. Take care of you while you take care of others. It's ok to ask for support yourself as you support others.

Thoughts and prayers are with you,

Jon

That's really tough Minnie. Take care of yourself as best you can, you are the one who needs the help.
Best wishes.

Dear all, thank you very much. May my brother's soul rest in peace. Saw my GI and he put me on an antidepressant which functions as a sedative as well and said nothing else would control my symptoms.

Dorri and Randy, thank you. My mum got sick and had to be hospitalised. Crohn's decided to show its ugly face and I'm flaring up. Tried as hard as possible to hide it so that not to make my mum worry but couldn't; pain, nausea and vomiting cannot be hidden. The whole situation is very hard. We all need your prayers.
