Yes I stopped drinking OJ because it seemed to upset my CD. Assumed it was the acid and or sugar. I mainly stick to just water and tea now. I’d love to go back to OJ in the mornings but I’m afraid to try when things are going well for me. Same thing with gluten which I stopped eating years ago, have no idea if it had any effect, but I’m afraid to change anything.

Thanks for sharing, Dave. I am in the same situation, and have the same concerns. It's definitely hard to live with a very restrictive diet. It has negative effects on social, psychological, and physiological levels.

I especially miss cheese and potatoes.

I gave up drinking juice years ago when I found out it was basically the same as drinking coca cola but with vitamin C. It wasn't a big loss for me, as I've never cared much about fruit juice and only drank it because it seemed like the healthy option.

Whole fruit is far better for you - well, for people without IBD that is. The fibre slows down the sugar absorption and it's generally lower in calories as well. It's really easy to drink 200 calories worth of fruit juice; not so easy to eat 5 oranges in one go.

Hey, it's nice to see you again mate. I'm dabbling with more sugar intake these days. Oddly, everything seems fine.

Thanks xy.

I do okay with sweets, provided I don't go nuts and eat an entire family bag at one go (something I may or may not have done <_<). Even a can of soda is okay, although sadly in the UK it's getting harder and harder to find soft drinks which don't have sweeteners added to them. I can tolerate the sweeteners - I just don't like the taste of them compared to real sugar.

Yeah, nearly in everything in our foods from supermarkets, I see unhealthy things. It's amazing.

I'm looking for a place out of this world for living.

This might be wishful thinking but I think the ripeness of the oranges could be the determining factor in the fruit's inflammatory effects. When I try homemade OJ again, I will make sure the oranges are ripened naturally.

I have not noticed any ill effects when I take Stevia in place of suger. I also notice that Stevia does not give me any acid reflux type symptoms either.
