I've never been able to afford probiotics >.> (At least not a decent one.)
The evidence for probiotics as a treatment for Crohn's is very limited/poor though. And while they can help with some people's symptoms, they can also make some people's symptoms worse. Personally I'd save your money and look for other things which might relieve symptoms (be wary of cranks online offering 'miracle' supplements though). Also, there is a difference between relieving symptoms and treating inflammation: diets, imodium, etc. can relieve symptoms, but leave the underlying inflammation intact. It is important to try and treat the inflammation as well, because left untouched it can cause permanent damage to the intestines. (Depends largely on how bad it is.)
