He was my surgeon for my Jpouch surgeries but he is world famous for his strictureplasty technique (Michelassi Strictureplasty) for saving parts of the small intestine.
He doesn’t have the best bedside manner but he really grew on me. I had a horrible initial consultation with him and if I didn’t respect my GI who suggested that I use Michelassi then I would have used a different surgeon.
After all was said and done Michelassi did a lot of nice things for me, he even postponed a vacation so he could operate on me.
