My GI warned me that Questran can cause abdominal pain if you have a stricture by firming up the stool and making it bulkier. He also said it reduces urgency. Well, as far as I can make out, my stool isn't one whit bulkier and the urgency is still hideous. What it has done for me is reduce the bile acid and thus the insane anal itching I would get - bile acid must be the itchiest substance on earth.
You could always try an extra packet. I think you can take up to 4 packets a day, but do be careful about
interactions with meds or food (it can bind with medication or fat-soluble vitamins and reduce their absorption). However if Questran doesn't do anything for you, I would go back to the Imodium.

Tried: 5-ASAs, azathioprine, 6MP, Remicade, methotrexate, Humira, diets.
1st surgery 20/2/13 - subtotal colectomy with end ileostomy.
2nd surgery 10/7/15 - ileorectal anastomosis. Stoma reversed and ileum connected to the rectum.
Current status: Chronic flare. Do I have any other kind?
Current meds: 50mg 6MP; Entyvio (started 3/11/16)
