So two years ago I had an abscess. A couple of surgeries, a bunch of antibiotic treatments, months of missed work, 3 setons, and started Remicade, and I got back to normal. Now, I can feel a pain in my other butt cheek. It feels very similar to how my first bout started. Is there anything else it might be? Anyone have any ideas? I'm going to call my doc and I'm sure he's going to send me for an MRI to see what's what, but I don't think I can do this again...

Stevo, sorry to read what you have going on. I can understand your fears, but hopefully your dr will act on this fast & get an MRI done. The sooner you can find out what this is, the better. I know it's difficult, but try not to think the worst, it could be something totally different.

Keep us posted.

Sorry for the slow response on here. I'm fine! One course of strong antibiotics and it has gone away. My doctor thinks it was a buttock abscess rather than an anal abscess. I don't know, but I'm happy it's gone.

Hi Stevo68,
What antibiotics were you on if you don’t mind me asking? I just developed butt pain, which my doc thinks was an abscess (happened over Easter so GI was closed). So he’s started me on antibiotics but I’m worried it won’t clear and I’m starting a new job on Monday so am freaking out a bit - the timing of this disease is honestly the worst, never fails 😬
