Before I start I have to say I don't recommend this to anyone. This is my experience and mine alone.

Hey guys, I haven't posted on here for a while as I've been in pretty good nic and I'll be honest reading some of these posts gave me major anxiety sometimes, so I found I did best if I kept away from the internet and not constantly read about Crohn's and coloitis which brings me to why I'm here I was diagnosed with Crohn's coloitis in 09 luckily for me I was always in a mild state (knock on wood) but I struggled with mouth ulcers for a long long time! Even when I was doing good, my mouth ulcers was always there one way or another. I was in Europe (Italy) in September 2019 for a wedding and I vaped nicotine for a few weeks while I was there it actually didn't hit me until I left and came back to Australia that I noticed I hadn't developed a ulcer for a few weeks which was something new for me. So I did alittle experiment on myself and tried it again, lo and behold I haven't developed a ulcer for over a month! And My stool is almost at 100% cause I always had mixed stool, at times it would be good sometimes it would be loose. So from what I've read and been told nicotine is meant to help ulcerative colitis but make Crohn's worse can someone please shed some light as my GI is still convinced I have Crohn's

I understand your thoughts on stepping back from the forum. A lot of people do this because it can become overwhelming focusing on things too much.

about the mouth ulcers, yes it does happen to us. It varies, some people get them much worse than others & some are not bothered with them. I also know people that do not have either disease & they get them. I have a friend that gets them often, she does not have IBD, she rinses her mouth with rum for a couple of days & they clear up. Lots of different ways to deal with them.

about your thoughts on UC or crohns. Yu need to see a copy of your colonoscopy along with the biopsy report. This will clear up your question of which one you have. Yes, I've heard the same about smoking & UC, but again, each person is different.

Nicotine made my illness worse. But I have Crohn's.
