Hey guys,

Who here struggles with mouth ulcers even when IBD is in remission?

I feel like I always have one or two ulcers in my mouth but according to all my tests no disease activity!

I get them from time to time, typically I use warm salt water & Orajel makes a mouth rinse for them too. I also know people that get them & they do not have crohns or UC, so I don't I really don't think much of it.

Take care.

Hurts alot. Sometimes ill get 2-3 in my mouth and as one goes away another pops up. I'll have spells of it for 2-3 months then it'll stop Be super careful not to bite your cheek. Avoid hot foods, and abrasive foods like chips that might knick you. Could be from our disease activity. Remember crohns causes skip lesions, and can effect anywhere. So you can get an isolated lesion in your mouth without any on colon, Small intestine. Our immunosuppressants also can cause them.

When you get them there's topical pain solutions for it. Theres also canker 'bandaids' that cover it and stop the pain but you can't really eat and theres a pretty big learning curve putting them on.

Hey Sam,

I'm happy to say colconcopy 3 weeks ago showed no disease activity and today my GI called me telling me the pill cam was all clear. My small bowel is good, which he always suspected as we always thought my Crohn's is confined to rectum and colon Crohn's/colitis. My diagnosis... IBS cause I keep having loose stools and constipation along with anixety which worsens IBS symptoms he is saying. Now I'm just gonna relax as I got the clear that my bowels are good and it's IBS that's causing me headaches now. Regarding mouth ulcers I have been oil pulling coconut oil every night for 20 mins before bed.. 1 tablespoon of coconut oil and swish it in my mouth for 20mins, it has helped tremendously and if I see a ulcer popping up I use SM33 on it and don't let it form to a full size ulcer. But! Oil pulling has helped so much.

I do now. They said I had yeast in my throat and prescribed an expensive medicine my insurance would not pay,so they gave me a in-hailer to use.So it will take longer to heal but it is making a difference for me. They will see me again in three months to see how it worked. So far it is good.
