Hello,

I recently had a flexi done and in in the process of being diagnosed with either chrons or colitis. As well as digestive issues for several months, I’ve also had persistent air hunger/breathlessness (not Covid). Could anyone tell me if this could be related to IBD/experienced similar?

Many thanks smile

Yes, that's how I know I'm really sick. It's like I can't get enough air in. It's not a panic attack but even when I take deep breaths it's not enough. I also feel weak. Sometimes I find going for a walk clears it up. The sicker I am the worse it gets.....

I’m sorry to hear that. Hopefully you get better soon! Do you find anything helps? Or do you know specifically what causes it?

Thank you

I’d love to know if you get any answers. I am similarly constantly feeling as if I can’t breathe fully (except sometimes if I yawn, bizarrely). I am anaemic in that my ferritin levels are low but haemoglobin okay- IBD nurse said low ferritin makes you feel terrible, doc said no if haemo is fine shouldn’t feel crap. Additionally I feel weak a lot as if I stand for too long I might keel over. It’s far from ideal! Getting outside in fresh air helps.

I thought so too however my ferritin is up to 54 atm, so technically I should be feeling better as that’s in normal range but I still have bouts of it. I agree though, yawning and fresh air do help but it’s still a lingering strange sensation

Same issues here. Iron and magnesium infusions produce eradict blood work results. Small bowel syndrome complicates therapy.
