The PCR results came back positive but the CT chest ones were negative. For 2 days, I suffered from a fever of 39. Thank God, today and for the second day it’s 37. The real problem it seems that coronavirus had its toll on Remicade. I simply relapsed and feel that I have gone back to square one: diarrhea, same dull throbbing pain. When I sent my GI the CT results yesterday and told him about my abdominal pain, he added 2 gm oral mesalamine to my 4g daily rectal Pentasa enema. But this doesn’t take the pain away. Being a coronavirus patient, doesn’t give me the luxury to visit my doctor or ask to see any other doctor but I’m not OK. I hate this feeling of begging for help. I keep crying because of pain and don’t know whether it’s sheer luck that made me relapse though this has never been the case after taking my Remicade infusion or is it coronavirus that is the culprit.

I don't understand why you were not given the antiviral specific for the virus, that makes no sense.

Minnie, you have been posting here about having a lot of symptoms prior to getting the virus, so it's difficult to say one way or the other.

Since you have had the shots hopefully your covid symptoms will not be severe. That was great news on the negative CT.

It sounds like you could really use someone to advocate for you at this point. Do you have a close friend or family member that could possibly be more assertive about getting some kind of pain relief at least?

This would take a lot of the stress off of you, and you could strictly focus on getting over at least the virus effects for now.

Really hope you get things under control soon and start feeling better. Keep us posted.

Called the GP and she explained to me that what is happening now in my colon is not Crohn’s activity, rather it is coronavirus manifested in my gastrointestinal tract and it has nothing to do with any relapse. The symptoms of the new strain are characterized by diarrhea, vomiting and fever. However, she said that I have to wait for a couple of days until coronavirus subsides. I was also prescribed antispasmodic injections to slow things down as coronavirus this time had had its toll on my colon. All I can do now is wait and see.

On May 25, my PCR test came back showing that I had Covid. The fever lasted 1-2 days and then was gone. Last night my at-home antigen test showed that I am negative. I am still suffering from very bad cough. I called my doctor's office and the nurse called me back telling me it is probably post-nasal drip. I have been using Flonase nasal spray and Allegra, but the cough would not go away. I am thinking of prescription strength cough suppressant, but I am worried about the potential side effect. My gastro system is OK.
