Remicade seemed to be working well (been on it about five months), but I’ve just started flaring. Minor flare at this point, but disconcerting.
Admittedly I was pretty lax with my diet and recently had a stressful patch.
This flare started right after my last infusion.
I was adjusted from 8 weeks to 4 on the Remicade, as it was mot quite eliminating all symptoms. Then was doing great.
Can I remain hopeful that Remicade will kick back in? Stress is recently resolved and for sure eating better.
Doing some cortisone enemas to treat the flare.
Do people flare infrequently but remain on the same biologic?
Thanks.

How long have you been having the issues & what are your symptoms? I would not give up on Remicade so fast if it has been working. None of the biologics are 100% bullet proof, sometimes we can hit a bump in the road. What is your dr saying about all of this?

Just shot the doc a note, thanks.
Been a week with pretty minor symptoms. The little bit of blood is an escalation data point.
But I still feel good, which us something.
I’m thinking things will calm down.

I've been on Remicade + methotrexate since 2015. I have had some flares, we've stayed the course and after 3 month I usually start coming back out of it.

Do you take any other meds with your Remicade to help prohibit the development of antibodies? You might want to get your Remicade and antibodies tested.

Thanks for your reply.
Antibodies are good. Very recent bloodwork good. Not taking metho at this time.
It’s good to that a flare occurring does not necessarily mean the biologic is a total failure.
Doc thinks there could be IBS involved.
I don’t feel inflamed.
Hopefully a glitch soon to be remedied.
