Ok so it's been 2 months since my DX. I started on Pentasa and was just switched a week ago to Lialda.(same drug family just less pills a day) My stomach has been doing GREAT! I feel NO stomach pains & I have a BM once a day. I have been taking Iron so I am sure that has something to do with the bulkier BM's. What is bothering me is the 2 fissures, the skin tags that get very irritated and my fistula is sore after a BM. I don't want to go back to my Colo-Rectal until my fissures improve b/c the last time they got better she re-opened them during and examination. Her and my GI suggested Remicade but I don't know if I need it. I am trying to get pregnant and I don't want to open up a whole new can of worms. Can I be in remission if I am still having problems with the fissures and the tags? I have also noticed that for the last few weeks my tummy gurgles have returned and they weren't there for over a month..

Personally, I wouldn't go to remicade yet, but that is my opinion. I can't believe your colorectal surgeon does a rectal exam when you have fissures.....what is the point of that? If mine wants to know what is going on, he would schedule and exam under anesthetic because of all of rectal issues.

I would give some rectal meds a try to see if it helps with the inflammation done there with the skin tag. You obviously aren't totally in remission, but it looks like you are headed there.....

What rectal meds? I try to sit in my tub with plenty of epsom salt when I can but I feel like that only relieves my pain for the time being, I want something to help them improve!
