Ok, so I have very recently been diagnosed with Crohn's.  At first I was relieved to know that I wasn't crazy.  I was so sick of constantly complaining about my "stomach ache."  Yeah right!

However, my question is does anyone just feel generally uncomfortable in their skin.  It seems that my skin is always itchy and irritated.  Plus, I have some sort of weird rash on my lower back.  Maybe it's just me, but if anyone has these symptoms and knows a way to stop/contain them, please do tell!!

Sorry about your diagnosis. This is a great place to come. I experienced this a while back and it went away. I don't know what caused my case of crawling skin - yeast maybe? Have you asked your doctor? I know itches and rashes can sometimes very strongly indicate a specific problem so I'd definitely run it by your doctor. Good luck!

There are some skin conditions related to Crohns. You probably should give your doc a call.

When I was first diagnosed I was not sure if I was happy or sad cause for 10 years I have been telling Dr's I am sick and no one believed me! Hopefully someone can come by and give advice about the rash. Some of my meds give me sun sensitivity though. Could that be it? Karen

What is the rash like? I have a rash as well, vasculitis, and it's flat, beneath the surface. Big red splotches, swelling of area like ankles, feet, legs, hands, that sort of thing. Painful. May not be the same thing, could be, who knows?

Just a thought - when I first got diagnosed I was on pentasa and was very itchy. Turned out I was allergic to it. Now I take colazol and no itchies.
