I also have issues related to gas pains.  Sometimes I walk fast to relieve the gas trapped in my digestive system.  Other times I lie down on the bed, using the palm of my hand to gently move clockwise and counter-clockwise on my belly, to help gradually release the gas.  Lying on one side of the body for a few minutes and then turning to the other side quickly also help pass the gas.

Laying on my stomach helps rid the body of mine. But if it is intestinal gas and not stomach gas try some activated charcoal or another type of charcoal product called charcocaps. If it is stomach gas, then something like gas-x or phazyme should help. I don't have Crohns but I have UC. Good luck.

When I complained to my GI 4 yrs ago about bad gas and bloating he told me to take fibre supplements daily for the rest of my life...works like a charm, no more gas, bloating, mucus, bowel frequency has gone way down, instead of many trips to the can with little deposits I go fewer times with larger deposits and I can also tolerate eating fibreous foods without getting all gassy and bloated, popcorn, all fruits, nuts and veggies, beans ect. Nothing but benefits from taking fibre supplements daily, my GI is definitely on the ball (helps that he's one of the lead researchers in Canada for crohns and UC)....he knows his stuff, even encourages me to take the natural stuff I take because to him the only important thing is that I feel better regardless of how it's accomplished...I'm either allergic or non-responsive to tradtional oral RX...so he said stick to the bee propolis, omegas, probiotics and fibre supplements.

Hi Pb4,

Can you suggest a fibre supplement type? Canadian as well, (Southern Ontario).

Hi 73monte :)

I use Prodiem stool bulker (not the Prodiem laxative which are little round dark brown pills)...if you cannot find it you can use metamucil tabs, they are similar to one another.

Erudite's tips are good ones that (inadvertantely-LOL) have helped me.

I've also figured out that cheese gives me gas big time.

I too, am dealing with terrible gas pains currently! I drink LOTS of ginger and/or peppermint tea and dont go anywhere without my "Magicbag" (heating bag)! Walking lots i guess can help (sometimes).

Intestinal massage does the trick for me. You might also want to use a food diary to look for gas-causing culprits... attack the source of the problem. Carbonated drinks, sugary foods and high carb foods are common offenders.

My big gas issues are in my lower small intestine. I get no relief until I I go to the restroom for number 2 and then it all pours out. But until then it's just insane pressure and cramps, Will Gas-x help me?

I also take a fiber product, Benefiber Powder and it has been a life saver for me. When I have problems with gas I take a tablespoon of organic honey and sprinkle it with a teaspoon of cinnamon best thing I found to control gas.  You  can also take it before meals to stop indigestion and bloating.
