So, although I was a little nervous I took a road trip w/ my family. I actually did really good. (It was my 5 year old that had d but only for a few hours). We had a great time. The colazal seems to be working. So I'm so thankful for that.

The bad news is this: My body HURTS! But only when I stop. As long as I am moving I do ok, but then when I sit or lay down my legs - especially my knees - kill me. So I took one of the vicodin that the doctor gave me for pain. What I wanted was for it to work like aleve and make the pain go away. What I discovered was that the pain is still there but I can move through it. Oh, and then it kept me up for 2 hours in the middle of the night. They tested me for RA back in oct/nov last year and said that I was only 1 above normal so they weren't worried, should I press for a referral or are they just going to give me more of these types of drugs.

Also, my hair seems to be thinning again --- i've only been on the colazal for a few weeks was wondering if I should keep taking it and see what happens or if I should go back to the GI yet again???? I've had thinning hair with the pentasa and asocal too. I started taking 1 mg folic acid everyday about 2 weeks ago.

Thanks guys -- I missed you while I was on vacation. HW is addictive!

Hi Heather, Missed you too.
I'm glad your holiday went well....we all deserve a break from the old grind from time to time. I can't answer any of your questions...but i'm sure someone will quickly enough.
Hang in there.
Always...love and prayers,
Mary

Hi Heather,
I am glad you had a nice holiday. Have you seen a Rheumy doctor yet? I have seen one and was diagnosed
with Osteoarthritis.

Vicodin never did much for my joint pain. NSAIDS are the only thing that ever helped but they're a no-no for CE. As Teddybear suggests, maybe it's time to see a Rheumy and he can work with your doctor on medications that are acceptable.

Thanks guys. I haven't seen a rheumy yet but was afraid of more vicodin type drugs. If I go see my gi next week I can ask him.....

Mary - I was going to do a post last night to you but the computer wouldn't let me. I have been thinking about you and your girls. Thought that it was interesting that we had both gone to Europe when we were young. Do you know if your daughter is having a boy or a girl?
