I was wondering if anyone drinks v8 to get their veggies in. I get soooo tired of my 5 or so veggies that I can tolerate I considered getting some v8. I have the stuff but at least I would be getting veggies.... I was just wondering if it is ok since it is liquid or if there is too much fiber. Thanks guys! Hope everyone is feeling good!

Hi! We all are so different when it comes to what is tolerated. So you will have to try it and find out. I'm going to try drinking some myself as well! :-)

I don't have any problems with V-8 juice.  In fact I just drank one for lunch a few hours ago and so far I feel fine.  Raw veggies do me in but I seem to be able to eat cooked.

I would if I wasnt allergic to many veggies one being celery. I have to be so careful with fruits and veggies because of my oral allergy syndrome...most ppl have GI issues with OAS I get anaphalactic symptoms

I do fine with V8.  There are about a million different varieties- just be sure you don't get the "hot 'n' spicy" version, if that kind of stuff bothers you.  I think it's the "healthy request" version that I get.  It's lower in sodium and high in potassium, which I worry about since landing in the hospital with a potassium level of 2.3.  If you get the six pack of small cans, and you discover you can't tolerate it, you can always stick them in the kids lunches! tongue

like bektold mentioned, there is a low sodium kind. It doesn't taste as good but all of that sodium is not a good idea, especially if you are on prednisone (I don't know if you are).

Even if you drink some of the high sodium kind, it won't kill you every once in a while, but your maximum daily allowance of sodium is 2500 mg.

Thanks guys, I will get some and try it. I figure even if I don't like the taste I can chug it down and get some veggies in my diet :0)

I don't drink the V8 cause i don't care for tomato juice. I am impressed you might chug it even if you don't like it   Also, sometimes tomato gives me D. however, I do juice my own fruits and veggies and I tolerate them well. I mostly do apples and carrots.  My juicer removes the fiber so I think that is why I can tolerate them well. lately I have been scared to try things that might not agree with me. Karen

I drink the V8 fusion. It has fruit in it as well. Tasted terrible at first, but once I got used to it, it wasn't that bad. cool

great minds think alike!!  thanks for posting this momoftwoangels.  I actually was contemplating doing the same thing to up the vegetable count in my diet so it was a comfort to me to all of you that replied.  I bought the V8 low sodium kind--I know it won't taste as good as the higher sodium kind but I figured it would be better for me.  good luck to you!

Careful with the V8 fusions they have artifical sweetens that can cause the runs. I dont like the fusions they taste horrible but I love V8 regular.

I used to hate drinking V8 as a kid. Then one day in the past year I was camping and drank a can warm. I loved it! My advice is to drink all your V8 at room temperature...not out of the fridge. But of course, this is coming from a guy who used to like his beer warm (when I drank).

I just finished off a bottle of the V8 Fusion Tropical Orange and it wasn't too bad. I like things really cold so I put a little ice in it and it tasted better in my opinion.

OMG! How bizarre. I somehow missed this post until now and what a coincidence! I was just talking to my co-worker TODAY about trying V8 to get in some veggies. I am going to jump on the bandwagon (not something I do very often..:-)) and buy myself some tomorrow. If I don't like it, I have a "Mikey" in the house and will just pawn it off on her! LOL! Thanks for the post momoftwoangels and to everyone who responded. Those of us trying it for the first time should start a new post or poll or something just to see how many people like it, and those who already drink it could join in, of course! Alright, I am done running my mouth, night, ya'll!
