Problem getting doctor to call back

My question is, Does having trouble getting the doctor to call back seem to a problem? I called the other day and didn't get a reply for 2 days. Infact my problem was so bad I ended up calling off work. When I'm in pain I'm not a nice person.So by the time that nurse called back I was wanting to reach through the phone. On top of everything else I have a colonoscopy at the end of the month( I hope). The hospital called all last weekend wanting to know if I was going to be ready Monday.After telling three different people ,no, that a mistake had been made. Here calls the doctors office wanting to know why I didn't go.After checking the appointment is at the end of the month. And of course they don't know how it got moved up. So the second part of my saga is, When the nurse did finally call back they prescribed 20mg predisone one a day. The first time I took it I took 10mg in a series 5,4,3 ect.. a day tapering off. I don't have a way to taper and no refill. Is this common? Everything I've read here indicates most taper off.

Hi I guess if you don't have the meds you"ll have to call the office and see if they will call a perscription in . When do you see your GI next? The 20 pred. works fast for me so hope you feel better soon. Sounds like you were a little stressed I never had to wait long for a call but then it was about sideeffects when I called.Better days ahead. lol gail
