Hi Folks,

I used to be an active member, but I haven't been around for a while. I just moved to Austin, TX for graduate school. I will have health insurance through the university. On Tuesday, I'm going to see a general practitioner at the health center on campus, in order to get a referral to a gastroenterologist. I would appreciate SO much if people could give me recommendations of docs they like in the area. The more names I have, the better, as I have no idea who will be in my network.

I saw a similar thread from the spring, and what I gleaned was this:

Good docs: Dr. Ellis and Dr. Stassen at Austin Gastro; Dr. Pfanner at Scott & White

Please help!

Thanks so much.

Pfanner is in Temple and suppose is suppose to be really good but getting in to see him is another story. I was scheduled with him months in advanced and then got changed to a different doc for an even later date with no input or say in the matter. So I'm not how Scott and White works. I have seen several things that indicate Lukin in Austin is good. Debarjhi (sp) I saw and will never see again. Let me know how the search is going I really would like to find a good Dr. like I had in Indiana. Have even considered going up there for a long week-end and seeing him. They are all so different and finding a good doc is not as easy as I thought. Good luck with your search.
