it's been a little while sine I've visited the boards, but i have something heavy on my mind. I was hoping some of my fellow Crohnies could help. I've in the process of healing after undergoing my third surgery since July 3rd. I had a spinal cord stimulator put in to relieve the pain I've been having for the past few years. I was supposed to have a Remicade treatment the first part of July but haven't been able to get into see the Gastro because of all these other surgeries I've been dealing with. I've been in allot of pain since surgery last week much more then the last two surgeries and this morning woke up to passing allot of blood which isn't all that unusual but usually I'll pass some and I'm done. that happens about once a month. today it's happened every time I've gone which it's about eight times today. I wonder if it's possible it's due to the increase in the Percocet that I've been taking. It always seem if I am going to have a question about my health it's going to come up on a weekend or a holiday. this time it happens to be a holiday weekend. eyes
My wife is nagging me to look into going the disability route. Just seems for years now as soon as i get over one thing something else falls apart. it's like I never have a chance to heal up all the way. I'm an aircraft mechanic and it seems like I can't handle it like I used to. does anyone have any suggestions for a low stress Crohn's friendly occupation?

Maybe your wife is right and its time to look into disability. Maybe taking time to rest your body and also figure out what is going on may be what you need for a time. I know it is hard as I see you are married with 4 kids, but you need to get yourself well for yourself and your family. Maybe by going on disability you can take the time to not only get well but find a new career direction too. Good Luck and God Bless!

It seems like aircraft mechanic might be hard on your back! I have a nice cushy desk job and even that gets tiring for me some days. And my crohns is mild. (like I say - if this is mild I feel really bad for the severe cases)

I think its good to work as much as you can, but I wonder if you do need a little time off. Maybe take a week of vacation or get the doctor to write you out for 2 weeks.

Hi John You should not think of going on disability as something that is heavy I put health first when I stopped working and have never regretted that decision I learned to fill my days with other things like yard improvement your wife and familly would benefit from your not being stressed or pushing yourself to the point where you are sick.Three operations is alot and hopefully the Rem when you get it will do it's magic. John put your health first and life will take care of itself. There are many other things you can do ask for us to give you a list of things we would suggest to spend your time if you like ,I bet your wife would probably be loving the suggestions. lol gail

i just called the gastro's office letting them know what was going on. hopefully i'll hear back from them today.
i hate not being able to get out and do stuff. the only thing i've done for months now is lay in bed or go to the hospital. i hate being useless!

well, how do you like that i even screwed up my information at the bottom VVVVVV :(
