Hi everyone... I am home alone right now and kinda scared. I have had about
4 bms in the last 4 hours ( all liquid) and the last 2 have been red. I am not sure how to tell if it is blood or something that I have eaten. Is there a way to tell? I have never had blood in my stool before so this kind of freaks me out!!

Hi chelsea,
Are u in pain? I have regular bleeding with my crohns but i dont worry a great deal anymore unless i am in lots of pain as well. But i do think u should be calling your doc or go to the ER if u are worried. Is there someone u can call to come over and stay with u until someons is home? Dont leave this too long u really should get it checked. take care and let us know how u go

I am having pain in my LRQ but not severe. My parents won't be home until tomorrrow because they went away for the long weekend. Is there a way I can tell if it is in fact blood before i go to the hospital? I dont want to look like an idiot lol

Chelsea,
Did you eat or drink anything red today or yesterday? If not, then it's probably blood. Since you are home alone, you should call your doctor and your parents to tell them what's going on. If you're losing blood and are feeling weak, then you should go to the hospital. Keep us posted on how you're doing.

Hi Chelsea,
You should never feel like an idiot. I would recommend that you go to the hospital, If there is that chance
its blood. Here is a hug for you.

Just wondering how you are doing? Do you have a friend or a relative you can call to bring you to the doctor? You should be able to call your doctors and an answering service should have an on call doctor call you back. Don't forget that if you get to the point that you know you are having an emergency and do not have any ride to the hospital you can call 911.
