Has anyone tapered off Entocort EC while on Remicade? I am trying to do that now.  I tried tapering off and stopping Entocort a few months ago, with no remi, and I got really bad withdrawals. I was down to one per day and yesterday I didn't take any.  I have some joint painand insomnia, but so far, it's not that bad.  Has anyone else gone through this?  I seem to be really sensitive to any med changes.  Thanks.

I have been trying to reduce my dose from 2 to 1 and having a hard time. I feel awful all over when I do. I also don't feel that remicade has helped me at all though either. I am due for my 4th dose next week and my GI is talking about doubling the dose. But he also spoke with the rheumy and the hematologist and wants to talk to me tomorrow about my meds. So I don't know what's up. Hopefully the remicade has kicked in for you, and that is why you can taper more easily now.

I didn't taper off of Entocort, but I did taper off 60mg of Prednisone after I started Remicade. I haven't been on Pred since then, thank goodness. Remicade was the only medication that allowed me to taper down without having problems.

Hi Jennifer, I hope things go good for you. The Remicade should help. I have never been on Entocort.
I am also doing Remicade and Imuran great combo.

Hi Jenn Sounds to me like your not doing too bad so far hoping things go good for you.I am coming off pred with the Rem. this time I have to get off it because my glucose is up some so I am determined to put up with some symnptoms of withdrawal. So far it isn't too bad but missing my sugar.I guess that sure will help me to get off it. lol gail

Well it's day 3 now going off and last night I had nausea all night, but other than that, I feel ok! A tiny bit of joint pain, but I am sure Remi is contributing to that as well. I'll keep you posted with any other symptoms. I really hope I can stay off of it. I will lose like 5-7 pounds and it gave me these pimply like bumps on my arms, say good bye bumps! They are already gone!
