Hi everyone,

Received blood test results today and my triglicerides are high which supprises me because I don't eat a diet high in fats or sugars. I have one cup of coffee per day with cream and sugar, and I usually have a bit of cheese everyday...I don't eat red meat, bacon, eggs etcl.....

Someone mentioned to me that CD patients may have highter cholesterol levels because of poor absorption..What do you think?

And does CD make us more prone to Diabetes?

Just wondering,

Mary

marie... just the opposite would be true. if you dont absorb the fats the levels would be lower , not higher. like for me because of malabsorbtion due to loss of bowel, my cholesterol is routinely under 80. they have to give me fats to keep it up.

Considering the weight I've gained in the last 8 years or so I thought my numbers would be pretty high and I still keep an eye on them, but my doctors have told me they won't get high because of malabsorption. My LDL, HDL are low with a great ratio, my triglycerides are 55, and even on a bad day (high sugar/carb diet) my glucose doesn't get above 90. So why have I gained so much weight, lol?
