I have seen a few posts about the Pill Cam that mentioned having to drink prep solution prior.

My instructions are simply nothing to eat after 12 pm.

I am thinking I'll definitely be "full of it" if I do this.

My digestion seems very slow and I tend toward constipation.

Any thoughts/advice?

Pill cam is scheduled for Sept. 25th.

Thanks!

Nothing to eat after noon the day before should be sufficient to make sure your small intestine is empty, and really that's all that matters for the capsule endoscopy.  Yeah, your colon might still be "full of it," but that won't affect the pillcam going through the small intestine.  And once it gets into the colon it's useless, whether or not your colon is empty or full.

Average times for the small intestine to empty into the colon are 2-8 hours after a meal, depending on how much is eaten and how quickly your system works.  Once in the colon, things slow down more.  But if you don't eat after noon, your small bowel should definitely be empty by the next morning.

I've never taken a prep for the Pill Cam. Just NPO after midnight the night b4. Good luck!

I had this issue, after the 1st time with the test the cam didnt get there within the 8 hours. The second time they did the test they gave me reglan to take for about 1 week b4 the test...unfortunately same thing happened. I did the same prep you were told to do
