I haven't taken humira, but wanted to say I am glad that you are feeling better and hope that you have many more good days ahead.

I've been on it since late June.  At first I felt good.  Now I've noticed within the week of the injection, my joints hurt again, & when I brush my teeth, I gag so much I vomit a little.  Also, very tired & nauseated.  My lower back stiffness has gone away, but, for the other body aches, esp in the neck & shoulders are worse.  Also, my gut gets so big within that week too.  Immediately after my last dose, I layed down & when I woke up, my thoat was extremely sore & scratchy, now I have a sinus & respitory infection, along with a bad cough.  Don't know if its from the humira or just the change of weather.  Anyone have advice?  Going to the gi in a week & my next dose is Tuesday.  God Bless.

With a 50% or more rate of success it only stands to reason that there will be failures....and not trying to drag down a mostly positive post I have really mixed feelings with my response.

the first four loading shots left me feeling very renewed and with lots of energy.  My bathroom trips seemed to drop way down to just one or two per day.....and when I went to the bathroom, while it still hurt and the cramps were just about the same...i wasn't as dragged out after each trip as I usually am and I could recover within minutes rather than being down for a few hours at a time.  I even gained 2. 3 pounds in two weeks.   I noticed in the second week after the 4 shots that I was going more often...and the fatigue was setting back in.  The first three days after the shots my joints were on fire, then all of my joint pain went away.

My appitite is back...three full meals and snacks everyday (except yesterday)

Last Thursday I got two more shots and the joint pain came back and has stayed this time. I got my boost of energy and it has stayed in place, the next day (friday) I used the bathroom at least 12 times and each one was very painful.  Saturday and sunday were easy days with lots of energy and only one or two trips....Now yesterday was the day from hell....almost 20 trips...blood, cramps, the big D, nausea and joint pain galore.  But lots of energy...nothing like being wide awake and in pain.   On top of everything else...I can hardly sleep...but that is okay...I am still not tired...too weird.

I have made the commitment to keep going on this....it does not seem to be making me all that much worse (except the joint pain)....and the good days are the best I have had in years...so for now I keep trying and hope the stuff eventually works....BTW I am supposed to take two doses every other week.

hspenser - I have had a similar experience to you.  In the beginning I thought it was great but I am not reaching remission with it.  I have very good days and I still have bad days.  But like you said - it is not making me worse so you might as well stick with it.  I have been on it since the end of April.  I am only doing one shot every other week.  I am going to see the dr. next month so maybe increasing the dosage might be the key.  I really would like to have the good days more often, as I am sure we all would.  Good luck to anyone starting it.
