I had a enteroclysis test yesterday on my small intestine. The results show 3 strictures and 2 loops. My GI recommends surgery to remove the strictures. I have an appointment with a colon and rectal surgeon on Friday.

I have a question about the surgery itself. Does anyone know if they usually perform Laparoscopic Surgery nowadays or does that depend on the surgeon or the situation?

Thanks,

Laparoscopic resections are now done more frequently, but is still situational. Good luck!

I just had surgery two weeks ago, it could not be done lapro. I was hoping, but the surgeon said it is still much more common to cut you open, because they usually aren't completely sure how much and how bad the damage is. I have a pretty ugly scar now, but the good news is I recovered fairly quickly. Good luck!

Thanks you for the responses. Exactly what type of surgery did you have done? Did you have strictures removed?

Thanks,

Jerry
