I had surgery about 7 weeks ago for bowel resection, to repair fistulas, and to remove abcesses.  I haven't had an appetite for many months and I only eat what I have to out of necessity.  Has that happened for any of you with surgery?  (I didn't have an appetite before either, but now my Crohn's is gone for now...)  Also, does humira make any difference?  My doctor wants to start me on it in a few weeks because my metabolite levels for Imuran are not high enough.

Hi Yes after having my abcess surgery done I went down hill but then I was not DX and was not on meds. Ensure helped me to rebuild my body and appetite . I needed B12 Potassium and Protien as my levels were down. I ended up in hosp. by amb. in Jan. with partcial blockage so it is important to not let yourself go too far before you start to do something to build yourself up. Has your blood been tested to make sure your B12 and vitamins are ok? I began to love the ensure and creamed soups that had a good flavour. I was also put on pred. which of course stimulates the appetite. Good luck and get yourself to eating better soon. How are you doing otherwise? lol gail
