Just a note for those of you who are waiting to get your
first Remicade infusion.

Received my first infusion this morning, and had no reations at all.
Not even an itch. They gave me a pill of Claritin first.
The infusion itself took about 2 hours and 30 minutes.

They said I may be tired afterwards but I wasn't, I was staving. So
I went and got pizza, then went to Walmart, then went and got a
haircut. I still feel no fatigue as of yet.

So for me the wait, and thinking about receiving Remicade was
worse then the infusion itself.

Thank you Gail, hope it heals my fistula too.
Claritin is an allergy pill that doesn't make you drowsy.

Hi Lynn My fistula was abd after abcess surgery .What kind do you have? Mine would start to bleed a week or 2 after getting Rem. then around third Rem treatment it healed. It discharged a lot of stuff right after my first IV I changed the bandages at the hospital .Have you noticed any more discharge yet. There wasn't alot but I noticed some difference. I used to be worried about it bleeding because I wasn't sure if that was what it was supposed to do it was bright red blood so I thought at least it looks healthy. So don't worry if it does that at least that is what happened to me and it was not a great deal of blood. lol gail
