Hi all,

I got my humira today for the 1st time, I hope it gives me relief soon.  I went out to eat with my hubby tonight and stayed clear of the salad bar etc.  I am in so much pain now though from eating.  I have had D 3 times since getting home, I took a dilaudid before dinner and I felt okay unilt after my first BM after eating.  I just had to change the dressing onmy fistula again too, you could see that the gauze covering the saline one that is partly inside was even turning brown already.  I changed that a cpl hours ago.  It wasnt extremely full of poo and pus but enough to make me change it.  I took an Oxycontin 20 mg and hope it actually stays in me rather than coming out whole in my D like it has done before.  I dont see my surgeon again til thursday and start work monday.  I think one of my problems is I tend to overeat at supper compared to other meals/snacks.  I really dont "overeat" but it seems more than I can handle without severe pain.  I was up til 3am lastnight in pain too.  I think I am going to take an ambien and hope for the best between that and my trusty heating pad.  I'll probably sleep with it on low tonight since I feel so awful.

Sorry just had to vent and complain

That is my plan, unfortunatly I wont take home fish and chips for leftovers. Today we are going to my folks for lobster, crab, potatoes, and clams. I love living in RI, you can buy Maine lobsters right off the lobster boats

I agree hun
If you are already feeling like Crud I would kinda just slow up on eating and just have small good meals you know your body will take ........

** my understanding is that the coating on the Oxycontin will pass thru not the whole pill ........

I might be wrong and I dont mind being corrected .......learn what ya can is my motto

I have Bronchitis and on Tetracycline for that and now a couple of new sores so I cannot take another antibiotic for them ........so a suffering I go lol.........got the B from a lil nephew ......nope they DONT get it about my immune system or lack therof

Hope you feel better

I know that about the Oxycontin, however it was proven when the whole pill passed in my ostomy bag with the writing on the pill still legible. I also informed him that it passed in my B< after my reversal too. When I am having more D it tends to pass in my stool not long after I take it. I plan on a little of each type of the seafood today not a bunch of each. I rather take some home and have leftovers than be in severe pain

Hi Supper sounds nice I cain't tolerate seafood only fish. If it were me having enough pain to be on meds for pain (oxycotin) I would be on a soft food low roughage. Sounds like the Hum. might be helping the fist.hope so and hope you have a good evening. lol gail

Well I didnt eat too much but I am in pain. My papa was supposed to join us at dinner (he is my late nana's hubby). Both he and my dad put in a new cement step at my papa's house this am, we went to the Apple festival as planned and walked around looking at the crafts etc. Not long after getting home while waiting for the water to boil for the lobsters, my papa started feeling ...well not great. To both my mom and I he didnt look great. We figure it may be because this was the first time we gathered at my parents house for dinner since my nana's passing almost 1 month ago. Well while in the midst of eating our lobsters the phone rang and he was concerned since he was still having pain in his chest, at the house he said it was from the lemonade...which it could be indegestion. My aunt and uncle who live around the corner went over to his house and called the rescue. My parents felt bad but they left us at their house to continue eating and clean up.

They are keeping my papa overnight to monitor him. He has had high blood pressure for a while and been on meds, his BP when taken was 190/100 (those arent exact #s but they were in that range). It has gone down to 150(something)/100(something). He got a bit sick to his stomach from the nitro glycerin that they gave him in the rescue in case it was a heart attack. The pain is no longer traveling to his back. A cpl weeks ago he was complaining of burning while urinating and he is one who prides himself on only urinating a few times a day....we keep telling him to drink more and that he should be going more often. I dont know if those symptoms cleared up or if he is still having them.

Please pray that he is going to be okay, I dont think I can take him passing or becoming really ill at this point so soon after my nana. We are moving in with him in a month and have the moving company date for Oct 28

I can eat most seafood including lobster without any problems.  But I can't eat salad, or high fat food.

I like RI for its nice and free state parks.
