Hi,
Have any of you received one of your infusions when you were a little under the weather?
I have been receiving Remicade with no reactions since 1999.
Thursday I had a scratchy, itchy throat. (My husband and son had it too a week prior, with no other symptoms for only a day).
Friday I went for my Remicade and when the nurse asked her usual questions,.....are you in any pain?...I told her about my itchy, scratchy throat that started yesterday and that I really didn't see the big issue with it...and that I so really needed my Remicade treatment more than anything.
She made the call to my GI stressing what I had told her and he gave the ok for me to go ahead and get the treatment. My nurse cautioned me to look out after myself and to call if anything changed.
Well by the evening I started to get a phlemy cough, and I started to get hot/cold flashes but had no temp.
My nose started to run/get clogged too plus I started to have a little headache so I took some tylenol.
Yesterday, I felt like I had a cold all day. My ears started to pop off and on, then I heard squishy noises in my ear, my eyes became itchy and watery, I started sneezing a lot and blowing my nose and had body aches along with all my previous symptoms.
This morning I feel the same way....like I have a flu bug or something.
I'm thinking with the Remicade that it just exsaperated my symptoms and I will eventually get over it after it runs its coarse.
I was just curious what your opinions were.
I don't feel deathy ill...it just has now progressed to flu like symptoms....Do you think I should be more concerned?....just curious.
