HI all...My son was admitted on Friday.....started running high fever and vomiting..his ab area tender. i kept telling my GI guy that John was tender and pain when he coughed...the jerk kept saying he does not have diarehha.I yhink he is getting better!!! I took him to another doc.....who I waited three months to see....hewas nice and very good.he upped his 6 mp...John was doing ok then three days letter very ill. He  has an abcess in his small bowel..posibly a fistula to his colin. He will be here for a while..they have him on strong antbiotics, and steroids..thry said his Crohns right now is very aggresive. He has lost so much weight..now he is also anemic. I cant help but think  if thr other doc was more on the ball...this might not have happened...although I know Crohns is a tricky desease. I did ask about antibiotics to the first doc several times...but he never gave them. Well..all that being said my son is very depressed..he wants to go home,of course, and he can only have clear fluids. They are now talking remicade and I am very nervous...it has nasty side effects..and is very new. please keep my son in your prayers...i will keep you posted   God bless..Deese

So sorry your son's going through such a rough time. I can't even imagine dealing with a child going through this, it's hard enough dealing with it as an adult. Hopefully your new doctor is on the ball and can get back on top of this in a short time.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

I'm sure you poor son is depressed. Hospitals are not well tolerated by any of us, let alone a youngster, and as for not eating, that
really is a bummer, even for me, when I know that to eat, will hurt a lot more than not.
I will keep you and your son in my thoughts.....Keep us posted, when possible.

Sincerely,
Matthew
