Has anyone been misdiagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis and then found out that it was Crohns?

I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis in 2001, it was bad, very bad.  I spent months in the hospital and finally had my colon removed and ended up having an internal pouch.  A couple of years go by and I have my ups and downs but the past year has been awful.

I am now in the same pain I was in when I was diagnosed with UC in 2001.  Recent trips to my surgeon and gastroenternologist have determined that I have Crohn's and that my initial diagnosis of Ulcerative Colitis was wrong and I had Crohns disease all along.  Two endoscopy's  later confirms that I have a red/irritated pouch and small intestines.

I am now on a high dose of Entocort and am still in pain.  I am worried that I am going to lose my pouch ad will have to get a colostomy bag.  Has anyone had anything similar?

my husband was misdiagnosed as UC until they found it in his stomach and did the prometheus test....

really didnt make any diff for him tho....he wont do a thing to help himself.

his stomach pictures are so weird...these elevated white things all over his stomach...

the biopsies didnt show the diff in crohns and UC..the stomach was what did it.

i hope you feel better soon...
