Initially the eye doc said my eye inflammation was caused by my contacts, that was in May. Now the Optomerist dx me today with right eye inflammation as a 2ndly infection of CD. I started humira in June, could this be a side affect of the med, my blood tests last week showed a sed rate of 8. God Bless

There are several eye problems that can occur in people with CD.
Uveitis
/iritis,
episcleritis
, and
scleromalacia
are just some of the eye problems that effect CDers. Suseptibility to infection increases when one uses any of the anti-TNF drugs such as Humira. I would make sure that the diagnosis that the optometrist just made you is backed up by a second opinion from a ophthamologist. The treatment for an infection defers greatly from the treatment for other eye conditions prevalent in CD.
