Well we literally sold out of Z packs at the pharmacy today!  Since I'm immunosuppressed and have had such a lovely week of it via, ER, wisdom teeth, antibiotics, yeast infection, allergic reaction to monistat!, etc...just thought I'd add a nasty head cold to the mix!  Probably going to have to put off my dental surgery and humira till next week.

For those of you that can take it....don't forget you can use a product called AirBorne or zinc logenges to help fight that nasty critter.  Both are over the counter.  And go schedule that flu shot TODAY!!!!  Some pharmacies in North Carolina have teamed up with BCBS insurance and all you have to do is show your card and the shot is free!  Check out what your local pharmacies are offering in the way of shots!

Hope you are feeling better soon. Boy you sure got hit from every end and every nook and cranny. Definately see about your flu shot soon.
For me I've already had pneumonia. Been flat on my back except for coughing fits that send me off to change my underwear because I can't cough and NOT pee at the same time. In between all that, there are the numerous trips to the bathroom because any antibiotic or flu/cold/pneumonia sends me into a major flare. Now for someone who is used to being constipated all the time....this D is for the birds. I'm exhausted. Between coughing, peeing and pooping I'm not getting near enough rest to get over this dang pneumonia. Oh well....that would be life....hit you with everything its got when you're down. Kinda getting used to it. It sucks doesn't it.....plus it doesn't smell like no bed of roses either.

Well, that is my rant for the day. In all seriousness I sure hope you are better soon. My love and prayers to you

Poopy , tired and old Mary.

I'm going to my Husband's company this afternoon for my flu shot. I have just a tiny bit of congestion, so I hope the shot takes. But I know if I wait for my doctors office I won't get the shot until well into November, so I'm taking the chance.

Yes, I've noticed a large increase in Flu & Cold meds going through work & in sales. Hmm, but not from the Ragweed? Flu shot time indeed!

I've had 3 different head colds in the past 3 weeks! I don't want to get the flu shot too early but I think I better get it anyway soon.

I was a good witch today and got my flu & pneumonia shot. Humira is keeping the sed rate down thank goodness and I got drugs for the yeast!!!! I did reschedule the dental surgery for the 10th. I just couldn't handle coping with all the vexing spirits in my body this week!

Airborne-is a highly concentrated vitamin mix dose especially formulated for colds. You are suppose to take it as the first symptoms start to appear. The package directions say a dose every 3 hours. Our pharmacist suggest one dose a day for 3 days. There is such a thing as too many vitamins and I already take a good multivitamin daily. It has helped me in the past lessen the symptoms, however, read the label...your CD may NOT like it since all of us are different. I opt for these as my first line of defense because I get sooooooo jittery on antihistamines. And of course, cough medicines make me nauseous and give me more D.

Zinc logenges do about the same thing too.

Tess-If I can't escape the cough, fizzle, cough, fart, cough....OH S@#$! syndrome by Halloween, I'm going to have to check into some new fuel injectors for this darn broom!

Broom- I get jittery/heart palps on anticrapamines w/ pseudonephrine. The new ones being manufactured to avoid the FDA behind the counter rule do not contain the same ingredients. For some, they are not as effective at masking the cold symptoms but for me they are perfect. I have a lot less side effects on them and I still feel better. The new sudafed (pseudonephrine free) works wonders for me sans jitters.

Oh yes, my husband caught the cold about 4 weeks ago, and is STILL coughing. He went to the doctors a week ago, and was put on an inhaler, anitbiotics and some strong cough meds. He's doing better but that cough just won't completely leave. I never caught it from him AMAZINGLY! I usually catch everything. Were travelling next week so I've been trying REALLY hard to stay well. Not going in public unless I really have to. And I carry some hand sanitizer in my car, and use often. My husband laughs at me and say I over do it, but no one but me seems to know how bad I catch things, and how often!

Hope you feel better!
