Hello everyone! since the imuran did not work for me at all....too many side effects such as increased mid stomach abdominal pain, loss of appetite, joint pains, and vomitting just 2 weeks that i was on it BUT...the only thing that came out of it that was good, is i have quit smoking for a month now. whooo-hooo....but i do miss it! eeeks! so, now i have my next appt on the 18th of this mth to see what the next step is. gosh...i feel like just giving up and let the disease do what it is going to do as long as all i can do is sleep thru it so i feel no pain. its so...frustrating and i hate this disease that we all have to cope with!! i try to stay positive and tell myself that we will find the right drug but for some reason, today i am feeling like there is just no hope!! i am sorry for sounding so negative but i guess today is one of those downer days. ugggg! so my question is this......sounds like alot of you were and still are fine on the imuran and for those who did not have positive results on it, did you try the 6mp? i heard it is in the same family and side effects could be worse but everyone is so different. please help me with any suggestions that you may have as i am just plain FED UP!! (the reason they are trying new treatments is because apparently the pentasa is not much use for crohns anymore and with the disease being back after 8 years of remission, it has effected my stomach and that is what THEY BELIEVE is causing all the hurting and discomfort) what do they know? i took it upon myself to take nexium for some kind of relief and if that doesnt work, i am at the point of opening up the medicine cabinent and trying the next thing. that's how frustrated i am! please...any advise??
