ok so today i had my 3 month check up with the pulmonologist. had my CT scan before hand. more nodules in the lungs or i should say "on" the lungs. seems they are on the outer surface to just inside the outer layer of the lungs. a couple dissapeared since june , but some new ones appeared. and the fevers, had a break for a few months and now in the past 3 weeks i have had 2 each lasting 2-4 days at 103-105. so they sent me for a ultra sound of my veins looking for blood clots that may be causing the fevers and the nodules by being very small and going all the way into the smallest vessels in the lungs( to the outer edge) and causing inflamation, which could be triggering the fevers. well the only clot they could find was in my left shoulder and that has been there since the fevers started in sep of '05.  sooo, back to the drawing board. so what a nice way to spend 7 hours at the hospital.  oh and more blood cultures to be done next fever. ( nothing ever grows). the last resort would be a surgery to get a piece of lung to check. but that wont be unless i get a rapid growth of these nodules or i get other symptoms.    cant do a needle biopsy as they are too small.  well thats it. tongue

Randy,

You just catch all the breaks, don't you? I feel for you, buddy.

Too bad you can't go see Dr. House.

Doesn't it always seem like that is the way it goes. You have all these things going on in your body, you feel them, and they do their tests and find things, but you still have no answers. I hate this disease! Hang in there Randy, hope they can figure out what's going on.

Randy, sorry you're still having to deal with this, I SO hope they get this figured out for you. I hear from my daughter you're getting lots of rain. ( I know, duh, it's Seattle) The nice part is, the storms have come down here and we really needed some rain. Best Wishes, Bets

hope you're feeling better soon.

ok, update on the update... Dr called today. the only colt thye could find was the one from 2 years ago. coincidently it was found 1 month after my fevers started. HMM? any how she says, i tcould be that this long lived clot is infected and maybe is the cause of the temps. so to break it up i could go on coumadin for 6 months. we discussed this for a bit and i told her , uh, NO. i have a history of hemorahging in my intestines and i thought thr isk was to big. she said ok it was just a thought. so here i sit with the same no answer.. randy

How about sending your story in to Fox TV for a House episode? Then you could maybe get an answer, some $$ for your story, and you could even play the patient. This would all take about a year, so that won't help much with your immediate problem, but still - House could use some good story lines, it's getting boring.

Seriously tho, I hope you and your docs figure out what's wrong ASAP. It must be so frustrating....
