I was wondering what all you have experienced in the past as far as taper rate goes. I've been on 40mg for a few months now and my GI Doc is taking me off at a rate of 5mg a week - just trying to get a comparo.

Tried the 5mg, didn't work well. Doing 2.5 every 2 weeks now. Currently down to the first 10mg week in over a year and a half. Think I'm hitting another wall. Not having the D, but have felt incredibly fatigued and crappy this week. Maybe it's just the withdrawal again.

One doc had me going down 2.5/week after I got below 20 mg.

This time I was going to try a little faster than 5/week but a different doc said no faster than 5/week.  At the end of my first week at 15 I started to feel some obstruction so I've held at 15 for a  second week.

My first GI had me drop from 60 to 40, and then by 10 mg every 10 days.  The new one put me back on a 40mg and had me drop 10mg per week until I hit 20 and the by 5mg per week.  I drop to 5mg tomorrow, and by this time next week I'll be done taking Pred.  Hopefully.  The last couple of weeks have been rough.  My guts have been OK, but I've been really tired.  Then I started taking my multi-vitamin and a potassium pill at lunch again, and my afternoon energy levels have been great for the last two days.  I'm still a little tired in the mornings, and by about 6:30 or so I'm pretty wiped out.  But I feel great in the afternoon.
