Call your GI's office NOW. Most have a doctor on call to make decisions for patients in their practice. Should there not be an on-call service, then you will have to make the decision about going to an urgent care or ER facility. Generally, my rule is that if you need to come here and ask whether you should go to the ER or not, then you need to get medical advice and after hours that is usually the ER.

Let us know what happens okay?

Jelena, I've had a serious GI bleed, so I can relate! I went undiagnosed for many years (told it was IBS). After about 8 years I started to bleed. I filled the toliet up with nothing but bright red blood 5 times over a few hours. I got light headed and my husband called 911. I was admitted to the hospital and lost half of all the blood in my body. So these things can be emergencies, it just depends on how much blood your losing. Which is so hard to know. There are times now where I bleed a slight bit, and I let my doctor know. But nothing like my GI bleed. They had to go in with a scope and they found an ulcer that was bleeding in my TI. My GI fixed it and stopped the bleeding.

So I'm really hoping that's not the case for you. But yes, keep an eye on it tonight like the doctor ordered!

Welcome to HealingWell, but sorry you are having so much problems at present.
One thing I have to ask- Is your bleeding heavy & severe. Or just some, like staining your underwear, the toilet paper, etc. I've had bleeding issues even years before my first IBD dx..

Ooops. Sorry, just got off work & I'm really tired. Yeah, that sounds like a pretty serious bleed. By all means, get to the Hospital ASAP if it continues. Something may have perforated or something.
A <<HUG>> & a <<PRAYER>> for you

Sincerely,
Matthew

A severe GI bleed (where you output basically nothing else but blood) is definitely something that would (and did) prompt me to head in to the local ER.

Hey
I had Crohn's for about a year before my Ileostomy and my main sympton was bleeding every time I went to the toilet, no other times though. Wasn't painful but I became anaemic very quickly, had a couple of blood transfusions etc. Definitely needs checking out! Good luck!
