I had one about
2 months ago. It wasn't bad at all. They first took a scout xray jus to make sure I was empty. Then they had me drink 2 glasses of barium. It really wasn't that bad. Using a straw is easier for me so I did that and then once I started drinking, I didn't stop until it was gone. That helps me a lot. From that point it took me about
2 1/2 hours. It really started going a lot quicker when I started walking up and down the hallways. They would take pictures about
every 15 or 30 minutes. Once it had reached the small bowel, they put you under flouro and the radiologist comes in and takes some pictures. Mine had me roll to each side and pushed on my belly a little bit, then it was all over! I drank plenty of fluids the next 2 days and had no problems with the barium coming out. Good luck!
