Hello All,
Those of you who have had a resection, what are you using to make that scar look a bit more appealing? I have been trying a prescribed steroid cream but not much effect. I have tried breaking Vitamin E capsules and rubbing the oil but not much help either.

I never put anything on it to make it look better but I would just rub the scar frequently and that softend it up so that it was not so rigid and raised. Still looks bad but feels better.

I used Vitamin E. It looks pretty good.

I used the Vitamin E and it did help some. However, they left my incision pretty open due to potential infections so mine's still pretty wicked.
I put cocoa butter on my galbladder scars and it didn't do much of anything.
Dx'd '90 (emergency rupture), symptoms ignored long before that, '03 fistulas and bad flagyl reactions, B12 weekly, Pentasa [until I surrender to the bigger meds]

I've heard that rubbing scars using both hands in opposing directions helps.

Vitamin E oil, twice a day, but it takes time. Nothing works quickly on scars.
