HI all, I am kind of new here.. I had uc for 10 years had my colon removed 8 years ago have learned to live with the ups and downs of D. Until I had enough with going about 12 times a day. Went back to Gi and he told me I have crohn's.. I take lomotil as needed and I have had two remciade treatments.. Feeling better go back to GI end of month. My problem is I need to lose some serious weight. My son is getting married in May.. I just don't know what to eat to lose weight.. I don't eat salad or veggies or fruit, other than peas and green beans.. have tried to go on low carb diet was ok for a couple of days and then bad D. Do you guys have any suggestings... Thanks for your help...  Donna

Hi!  i'm 54, dx'd with Crohns 10 yrs ago and have been on Remicade for about 6 yrs. i've found the best and safest way was to join Weight Watchers. I feel like it's really worth the effort and worth going to the meetings... even with my CD, i was able to find plenty that i could eat and still lost 28 lbs in 6 mths. i got lots of exercise and ate the recommended amts from all the food groups... i never felt better. You really have to be willing to follow it faithfully. (there's built in room for snacking.... and you can eat whatever foods you like as long as you keep track) i never went hungry and felt very energetic. Just a suggestion....  best wishes! Enjoy the wedding!!
