I am on 6mp for Crohn's colitis - I was diagnosed last year after relatively mild colitis for years. I got very sick and was in the hospital for a week on IV steroids and morphine and lost about
30 lbs, after that it took me about
another 3-4 weeks before I was back at work, etc.
My hair started to fall out about 3 months after all this happened - my GI dr tested my thyroid and it was normal, so I went to my dermatologist and he said it was telogen effluvium, which is temporary hair loss after a trauma to the body, or another big change (surgery, stress, I know it happens to women after pregnancy sometimes as well).
My hair started to fall out all along my hairline but the good news is that it didn't go bald (just really thinned so I wear it in a ponytail) and wasn't permanent, it sucked but is growing back. It lasted about 6 months total, a little at first, a lot toward the 3-4 month and then tapering off. It was very upsetting at first but once I put it in perspective (and realized there was nothing I could do) I came to terms with it and got through it.
I don't know if this is what you are going through but thought I would share my experience with this. :)
